Joao Fonseca, Alex Michelsen reach Next Gen semifinals

No. 8 seed Joao Fonseca of Brazil improved to 2-0 and advanced to the semifinals of the Next Gen ATP Finals with a 4-0, 4-0, 1-4, 4-2 victory Thursday over No. 5 seed Learner Tien of the United States at Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The event includes the eight highest-ranked ATP Tour players age 20 and younger. Matches are best-of-five sets to four games, with a tiebreaker played if
