'Let it begin now': Trump welcomes 'shutdown of government' in new statement
Donald Trump on Friday welcomed a potential shutdown of the government before he takes office.
Trump risked a shutdown when he pressured GOP lawmakers to reject a bipartisan spending deal, which resulted in a second deal which died after being rejected by almost all Democrats and some Republicans.
Trump has already tried shifting blame for the result over to President Joe Biden.

The president-elect continued that effort ahead of the weekend, taking to Truth Social to welcome a shutdown.
"If there is going to be a shutdown of government, let it begin now, under the Biden Administration, not after January 20th, under 'TRUMP,'" he wrote on social media.
Trump then added, "This is a Biden problem to solve, but if Republicans can help solve it, they will!"
