When Is 'Virgin River' Season 7 Coming Out? Estimated Release Date Revealed for Netflix TV Show

Netflix’s hit show Virgin River just returned for season six and the streaming service has already confirmed that a season seven is on the way.

Deadline has confirmed that scripts for the seventh season are currently being written and will be ready in January. The new season will begin filming in spring 2025.

Showrunner Patrick Sean Smith also revealed that season 7 likely will not be the final season.

“No plans to wrap up the series anytime soon, and as long as people keep coming back for it, we’re proud and happy to keep telling these stories,” he said.

If the show continues to follow its current gap between seasons, the next season will likely be released some time between December 2025 and February 2026, though nothing has been confirmed at this point.

Here are the release dates of every season so far…
Season 1 – December 6, 2019
Season 2 – November 27, 2020
Season 3 – July 9, 2021
Season 4 – July 20, 2022
Season 5 – September 7, 2023
Season 6 – December 19, 2024

There was a 14 month gap between seasons four and five and a 15 month gap between season 5 and 6. If the show continues this trend, we likely won’t have the next season until February 2026.

We think it’s likely that the next season will premiere in December 2025 to continue the trend of releasing a new season in each calendar year.

The showrunner already confirmed one actor will not be back in season seven.
