Victim identified in crash on River Road in Niskayuna

NISKAYUNA, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- The driver in a single-vehicle crash in Niskayuna on Dec. 10 has been identified. Heidi Hoffman, 60, of Watervliet, was pronounced dead after being transported to Ellis Hospital.

On Dec. 10 around 7:03 a.m., officers responded to a report of a one-car crash into a tree on River Road near Whitmyer Drive. Police reported bystanders removed Hoffman from the car before it had caught on fire.

Hoffman was then transported to Ellis Hospital by emergency medical personnel, where she was later declared dead. She was the only person in the car when the crash occurred.

The Niskayuna Police Department and the Schenectady County Sheriff’s Office are still investigating the crash. Anyone who witnessed the incident or may have information is asked to contact Detective Hisham Khafaga with Niskayuna Police at (518)386-4500 extension 4580.
