Topeka students connect with mentors through One Heart Project

0

TOPEKA (KSNT) - A local middle school is helping students find success through a new mentorship program in Topeka.

The One Heart Project connects volunteers with at-risk middle school students. Robinson Middle School in Topeka currently has 14 mentor-student pairings. The students meet with their assigned mentors once a week over lunch to talk about goals and monitor progress.

"It's just nice knowing that, I can possibly change their perspective on life and possibly change the way they think about things," said Desiree Cain, a mentor with the program.

Both high school and middle school students can participate in the One Heart program. You can learn more about the project by clicking here.
