Light showers possible around Portland Thursday with latest cold front
PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Another round of light rain is expected Thursday evening as another cold front clips the Pacific Northwest.
Mild temperatures are expected to stay on Thursday with highs returning to the mid-50s. Mainly dry and mostly cloudy skies will transition to a few afternoon and evening rain showers. Any showers will stay light. Rain accumulation shouldn't amount to more than one one hundredth of an inch around the Willamette Valley.
The same weather seen on Thursday will be matched on Friday with mild temperatures and the chance for a few more afternoon rain showers.
The return of cooler air will help to drop weekend temperatures. Snow elevations will begin to drop down to 4,500' by Saturday afternoon. Mountain passes will see little to no snow accumulation with 3-6" of snow accumulation on the ski slopes.
Rain chances remain in the forecast through the end of the week and into the weekend. That's where highs will slowly cool by the start of winter on Saturday.
The wet weather trend will last through Christmas Day with warmer than normal temperatures in the region.
