Trolls say mum’s ‘taken the fun out of Christmas’ with her giant gift haul as others dub it ‘depressing’

A FAMILY have been accused of “taking the fun out of Christmas” after sharing a video of their enormous Christmas present haul.

The clip, which was shared on social media, showcased a Christmas tree completely surrounded by a ginormous mountain of presents.

And not only were there a lot of gifts, but they were all meticulously organised, in rows and groups – presumably depending on who they were for.

There was no floor in sight, as so many gorgeous gifts covered the space.

A variety of different wrapping papers were used, filling the room with colour and festive spirit.

Alongside the clip, the mother asked: “What is the most popular gift to give on Christmas?”

But unfortunately, the question didn’t get many responses.

Instead, many were left fuming by the vast amount of presents in the intentionally innocent clip.

The video’s comment section was flooded with remarks from angry social media users, insisting that such gauche displays of wealth “take the fun out of Christmas”.

Not only this, but people were stunned at how the family could afford so many gifts.

One person wrote: “I’m sorry but getting that much stuff would actually takes the fun out of Christmas.”

Another mum commented: “When you can only afford to give your 3 kids 3 gifts each this year – this hurts.”

Meanwhile, someone else agreed: “I will have zero presents under a tree unless I buy them for myself.

Holidays can be very depressing to me when I see this.”

At the same time, another person said: “In my 15 years of my life I have received less gifts than in this video.”

Not only this, but others argued that the amount of presents in the video could be because they have a large family and lots of people to buy for.

Why do shops start selling Christmas stock so early?

Charlotte Harrington, the manager at Summerhill’s garden centre in Basildon, Essex, explained: “For many, many years now, we’ve opened our Christmas department on the August bank holiday.

“The stock comes in early and we gradually start putting it out on the shop floor. This is just a small fraction of what we have.

“But our Christmas displays are so spectacular it takes time to get everything set up, so we have to start early.

“It may seem a little odd putting them out now — especially with the hot weather.

“But we have to plan so far in advance.”

“This is how my grandma’s house looks- 16 grandkids & aunts and uncles bring presents for all their nieces and nephews- so it adds up,” one woman wrote.

A second added: “Maybe they have a big family. Maybe they couldn’t always give presents, so they’re making up for it.

“Maybe they’re just big on gifts. Don’t judge!”

Whilst a third person agreed: “They could have a big family!

“I have a really large family so my tree looks similar to this!

“Everyone always gets 7-10 gifts big and small!”
