Albany West Community Center breaks ground
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- The Albany West Community Center broke ground on Wednesday. Demolition is underway at the site on Livingston Avenue located at the former Albany Boys Club.
Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan said the space has unlimited potential to bring recreation and community services to the neighborhood.
"This is going to become whatever this community needs and wants it to be," she said. "It is going to transform over time. It is going to reflect this community. And it is the power of this community that should determine what happens in this building."
The project is estimated to cost at least $15 million, and a portion will come from American Rescue Plan funding.
