Bankruptcy hearing to be held to finalize Saint Rose campus sale
ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A bankruptcy court hearing is scheduled to take place on Thursday to finalize the sale of the College of Saint Rose campus. The Pine Hills Land Authority won the auction with a $35 million bid.
Albany County Exec. Dan McCoy said leaders plan to meet with stakeholders to discuss next steps. They are considering selling off parts of the property. Albany Common Council members said the campus has a lot of potential, and they want neighbors to give input on its future.
"It is my deep hope, and I will be working with our county leaders and the land authority, along with my colleague on the council, to move forward and make sure those community voices are heard," Albany Common Council Majority Leader Ginnie Farrell said.
The LaSalle School and a nearby Hebrew school have shown interest in parts of the property. Leaders are looking to convert some of the residential buildings into housing.
Thursday's hearing is scheduled to take place at 1:30 p.m.
