Paris Hilton weighed in on pursuing a career in politics after landing a big win in Congress.

The 43-year-old entertainer had a lot to celebrate on Wednesday (December 13) after the U.S. House of Representatives passed a bill that she backed.

According to the AP, the bill – called the Stop Institutional Child Abuse Act – called for increased observation of treatment facilities for children.

Paris championed the bill, which has already been passed by the Senate. She has previously spoken about being sexually assaulted while attending boarding school.

In the aftermath of her good news, she opened up about if she would run for office.

“After coming here so many times over the past couple of years and seeing that my voice really can make a difference, and I can really shine a spotlight on things that are important around the world to make it a better place and safer for children, I can maybe see that happening,” Paris told The Hill.

Paris celebrated the news on X (formerly Twitter), writing, “Today is a day I will never forget.”

“This moment is proof that our voices matter, that speaking out can spark change, and that no child should ever endure the horrors of abuse in silence,” she continued. “I did this for the younger version of myself and the youth who were senselessly taken from us by the Troubled Teen Industry. To the countless survivors who shared their stories, to the families who stood with us, and to the coalition, thank you from the bottom of my heart for standing with me.”

If you missed it, Paris recently revealed why she stopped being friends with another celebrity.
