‘His job flashed before his eyes’ – Darts fan’s reaction after realising he’s on camera at World Championship goes viral

FANS joked that a darts spectator must have pulled a sickie after spotting his sheepish reaction to being caught on camera at the World Championships.

The fourth day of the iconic darts competition is well underway with fans flocking into Ally Pally to catch a glimpse of the best-of-the-best.

Punters and Christmas parties sold out the London venue to cheer on both the Round of 128 and Round of 64 clashes on Tuesday evening.

But a video of one fan has gone viral after he was caught looking embarrassed when he noticed the Sky Sports cameras pointing in his direction.

The man, sporting a Elf Christmas jumper, could be seen smiling and enjoying a sing-song with his pals, before quickly turning straight faced and swinging his head sideways away from the camera.

Of course, he could have just wanted to avoid being on the telly.

But fans have come up with other work-related reasons for his swift change in demeanour.

One wrote on X: “His job just flashed before his eyes .”

A second said: “Someone’s pulled a sickie at work.”

A third quipped: “You’re getting sacked in the morning!”

Another joked: “That’s my boyfriend, he told me he had a work meeting. I hope he didn’t get caught .”

While a fifth fan added: “Hopefully his bosses understand.”

One more wrote: “Busted .”

The fan in question likely saw Peter Wright beat Wesley Plaiser 3-1 in his first match of the tournament this year.

Meanwhile, Noa-Lynn van Leuven‘s historic World Darts Championship debut against Kevin Doets ended in disappointment as she lost 3-1.

And Fallon Sherrock crashed out of the after Ryan Meikle edged the first-round match 3-2.

Sherrock, who has now exited in the first round for four years running, joins boyfriend Cameron Menzies in the list of competitors dumped out of the tournament.

Menzies broke down in tears on Monday after losing 3-1 to world No.130 Leonard Gates despite being ranked 91 places higher.

Wednesday’s featured match sees Nathan Aspinall go head-to-head with Leonard Gates.

Meanwhile, fan favourite Luke Littler begins his campaign on Saturday against Meikle at around 9pm.
