And Sophie broke down in tears as she said: “It’s been such a hard year,” to which Jordan replied: “Of course.”

The 35-year-old went on to say it’d been the “toughest year,” as she opened up on the loss of her grandma.

Sophie said: “When you sum it all up and talk about it, it has been such a hard year.

“It’s been tough, but I do like to think of all the good times that we had.”

Jordan interjected to remind his girlfriend about her birthday as he tried to console Sophie.

She went on: “I lost my nan which is hard and I wanted to give my nan a great grandchild and it’s just been so tough for both of us.”

Sophie ended by saying: “We’ve been so lucky with work and being able to help other people and stuff.”

But the Geordie native called it one of the toughest years which she couldn’t wait to see the back of.

Sophie and Jordan have been keeping fans in the loop about their fertility struggles this past year.

Sophie, who lives with endometriosis, has spoken candidly about wanting to have a baby.

And Jordan, too, has spoken out about their desire to start a family and the setbacks they’ve faced.

Earlier this year in a conversation with his co-star Elma Pazar, Jordan revealed he thought the were expecting their first child weeks before filming.

Fighting back tears, he explained: “Two weeks before we came out here we thought she was pregnant again.

“It is f****** hard man. It’s just my next step in life, to be a dad.”

Jordan urged men to open up about their emotions and praised his fellow male cast members for their support too.

And speaking exclusively to The Sun in summer, Jordan said: “Me and Sophie have a hell of a lot going on, especially with our fertility journey, that’ my main focus.

“As everyone knows from last series, it’s been a really tough time for both of us, I’m so proud of her and everything she’s done.

“She was there supporting me, I had all my sperm tests done last series – the results were that were amazing.

“But sadly we’re still in the same position as we were last series, there’s no sign of a baby yet.

“It does get hard and there are a lot of couples out there going through what we’re going through.

“I’m just glad we can show our journey.

“Especially from my side of things, to give men the courage to talk about it.”

Jordan has encouraged other men in his position to not bottle up their emotions.

“I want men to be able to speak about it. This series I definitely delve into more of the men’s mental health side and bottling things up,” he told us at the time.
