VA Hero of the Week: Red Sox Land New Ace With Garrett Crochet Trade Trade For Starting Pitcher Garrett Crochet

The Red Sox starting rotation got quite stronger when they traded for Garrett Crochet from the Chicago White Sox last week, making Crochet our VA Hero of the Week proudly presented by VA New England Healthcare!

The trade for Crochet was the Red Sox’s first major move of free agency. The strong-arm lefty who strikes out plenty of batters recorded a 3.58 era over 32 starts last season. He held a 6.03 strikeout-to-walk ratio and notched 209 K’s last year, which ranked seventh in the entire league.

Crochet will look to make an immediate impact for the Sox pitching staff in 2025 at the top of the Boston rotation.
