Shoppers are rushing to buy Cadbury selection boxes for just £1 from two huge chains
CHOCOLATE lovers have been offered a sweet deal as two supermarket giants have slashed the price of Cadbury’s selection boxes just in time for Christmas.
Those looking for last minute stocking fillers or a self-indulgent treat may want to act fast before stock disappears from shelves.
One shopper posted a picture of their tremendous bargain as they stocked up before the item disappeared in stores[/caption] They even posted the receipt to prove the rows of chocolate only cost £14[/caption]Offering 78g of Cadbury’s chocolate, the box includes various Treatsize and regular options.
For less than £1, bargain hunters could nab the deal which includes Dairy Milk Buttons, Chomp Bar, Freddo, Curly Wurly and Fudge.
To top it all off, the perfect gift box has been decorated to feature a Santa, reindeer, a present and snow.
The item looks to be so popular on the Aldi website, which advertises them for just 99p, there is a maximum purchase of 15 items.
Aldi has already declared the 89g pack as sold-out online so it may be worth heading straight to your local shop if you are wanting to try some for yourself.
It is always good to remember to phone ahead first to make sure you avoid disappointment.
Customers could also keep their eyes peeled at Poundland and Asda stores which have advertised the same box on sale for £1 and £1.25, respectively.
Already sweet treat fans have reviewed the item up for grabs with one shopper describing it as a “fantastic gift” for all.
One social media user shared a picture of the selection on X, formerly known as Twitter.
They wrote: “Who doesn’t love a good selection box?
“These Cadbury’s selection boxes from B&M stores, will not only be a hit with the kids, but at £1.25 each are fantastic value!!!
“They won’t last for long, so if you’re out and about shopping today, pop into B&M’s.”
Someone else commented: “Oh no. I just opened a Cadbury’s selection box I bought for my kids!”
Another simply put: “Never too old for a Cadbury’s selection box.”
The packaging also suggests all of the items included are suitable for vegetarians.
Shoppers should be careful to check prices before buying the chocolate as the cost is changing all of the time.
What is loyalty pricing?
You may have heard of loyalty pricing, but do you know what it is?
Sainsbury’s, Tesco and Morrisons are three supermarkets that offer customers signed up to their loyalty schemes exclusive discounts – known as loyalty pricing.
All three retailer’s schemes, Nectar Card, Clubcard and More Card, are free to sign up to as well.
The obvious advantage to loyalty pricing is that you can save potentially hundreds of pounds a year on your shopping, all without spending a penny.
But different supermarkets offer exclusive discounts on different products, so do some research before doing your shopping.
Either way, be wary of supermarkets artificially inflating prices to make it seem like you’re getting a better deal than you are.
A previous investigation by consumer group Which? found Sainsbury’s and Tesco have increased the price of everyday goods then slapped loyalty prices on them thinking customers wouldn’t notice.
Either way, it’s worth shopping around though.
Supermarkets change their prices all the time, sometimes multiple times daily, so it’s worth researching to ensure you’re getting the best price on an item.
You can use websites like Trolley to see how the major supermarket’s compare in terms of price on any number of goods.
