Man killed, another critically injured in Brooklyn building fire: NYPD
EAST NEW YORK, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A man was killed and another was critically injured in a Brooklyn building fire on Tuesday, according to the NYPD.
The fire broke out on Vermont Street between Blake and Dumont Avenues in East New York around 1:20 a.m., the FDNY said. At least 60 firefighters and EMS personnel responded to the scene, according to fire officials.
The man who died was believed to be in his 50s, police said. Both victims have not been identified.
A firefighter was also injured while battling the flames, the FDNY said.
The fire was put under control around 2:30 a.m. The cause is under investigation.
