Don Johnson Posts Rare Family Photo to Celebrate 75th Birthday

Miami Vice star Don Johnson posted a rare photo with each of his five children on Dec. 15 to celebrate his 75th birthday.

“My kids are my everything!!! Happy birthday to me!!!” Johnson emphatically captioned the post. The single photo shows Johnson sitting amidst his family on a staircase completely decked out for the holidays. He’s flanked by his wife, Kelly Phleger, on the left; and his daughter, fellow actor Dakota Johnson whom he shares with ex-wife Melanie Griffith, on the right. Also present for the photo was Johnson’s son Jesse, whom he shares with Patti D’Arbanville; as well and Johnson and Phleger’s three children: Grace, 24, Jasper, 22, and Deacon, 18.

Griffith’s children Stella Banderas and Alexander Bauer, whom she shares with Antonio Banderas and Steven Bauer, respectively, are also pictured. Johnson formally adopted Alexander during his and Griffith’s marriage. "How beautiful this is!!! FAMILY is everything. Happy birthday, Don ♥️♥️♥️," Griffith commented on the photo.

Others stopped into the comments to wish Johnson a happy day, including director and producer Reginald Hudlin, who worked with Johnson on Django Unchained. “Happy birthday to us, birthday twin!!!” he wrote.

Johnson, who struggled with substance abuse and balancing family with work at the height of his career, told People in September that with age has come a more assured balance and a clarity that family is important above all else.

“I'm at a place now where I can pick and choose [roles], and that's why I've picked things that are sometimes more supporting roles," he explained. "Because I still like doing what I do, and I still get the same joy out of it, but I just don't want to work those long hours and be away from my family."
