Fugitive who ran from Jeanerette City Jail in October still at large

JEANERETTE, La. (KLFY) -- A teenager who escaped from the Jeanerette City Jail is still at large, and considered armed and dangerous, authorities said.

Jeanerette Police said Jaqualin Lewis, 17, ran off from the booking area of The Jeanerette City Jail on Oct. 15. Lewis was being held for two counts of attempted second degree murder, and one count of carrying of a firearm in a school zone.

Lewis is considered armed and dangerous by police. Anyone with information on Lewis's whereabouts is asked to please call Jeanerette Police Department at (337) 276-6323 with any information.

Anyone caught with Jaqualin Lewis will be charged accordingly, authorities said. Additional charges are pending.
