US factory activity slumps further in December as tariffs loom
				
																	
								
				U.S. manufacturing activity declined in December, with output hitting its lowest point since mid-2020.  Concerns over potential tariffs impacting raw material costs contributed to the contraction.  While the service sector saw a boost post-election, manufacturers expressed apprehension about tariff-driven inflation.
