BUS drivers are an integral part of the public transport system, with millions of us relying on them to get from A to B.
But have you ever wondered what it’s like to be behind the wheel – and if there are any common passenger habits that annoy the drivers?
Well, now one bus driver, only known as @elrickzy, has taken to TikTok to spill the beans and share a glimpse of a day in his life driving around.
According to the London-based driver, there are numerous things passengers do irritate the busmen – so, how many are YOU guilty of?
As well as those who forgot to get off at their stop, @elrickzy gets angry when passengers can’t find their Oyster card and spend ages looking for it – meaning he cannot continue the journey.
”You’ve had so much time to have it ready before I arrived,” the furious driver said in the video.
The busman claimed that on several occasions there will also be people who want to get off ”in a rush” and will allegedly loudly bang on the can door, making him ”jump’ from the shock.
Some buses also offer newspapers to their readers – however, if you want to be informed of the latest events around the world, better grab the paper issue without taking too much time.
”We have a schedule to maintain,” the driver reminded his viewers on the platform.
”Chop, chop, get to your seat ASAP [as soon as possible] for your own safety.”
Once on the bus making your journey to work, back home or somewhere else, the drivers would also prefer if you didn’t lean on the disabled bell button.
”It’s mad loud in the cab,” @elrickzy said, before also urging passengers to try a different card if your Oyster or debit card doesn’t work.
Last but certainly not least, the driver told TikTok users to stop ”running on the road towards the bus flapping your hands”.
”I can see you – but just cause of that though, I’ll leave you behind,” said the driver, explaining that the common habit was ”triggering”.
Since being posted on the page, where @elrickzy boasts more than 100k likes, the clip has racked up over 130k views in less than a week.
Hundreds of viewers flocked to comments to share their thoughts, with dozens of passengers sharing what annoys them.
One said: ”A thing that anoys me on buses when people stand by the door when there is spaces to sit down and there no room to get off.”
Someone else chimed in: ”You know what annoys me. WHEN YOU CHANGE DRIVERS BUT THE OTHER DRIVER ISNT THERE SO IM SAT ON THE BUS FOR AN EXTRA 10mins.”
A third added: ”can’t say I’ve ever seen a bus driver wait for everybody to be seated, I’ve fell down the stairs before because they started to drive.”
”These things annoy passengers too. Especially waiting for people to find their pass. And trying to use a pass they know has no money on it,” a social media user commented.
