ICC Champions Trophy schedule to be announced TODAY? Report gives HUGE update

The International Cricket Council (ICC) is reportedly set to announce the schedule of the 2025 Champions Trophy today, December 16.

As per a report published by ARYNews, the schedule is set to come out on Monday, December 16 with the tournament set to begin from February 19, 2025. Notably, this is not the first time that such a report has come out.

Over the past few weeks, PCB, BCCI and the ICC have all been trying to reach an agreement regarding the hosting of the tournament, however a solution is yet to be found.

Multiple reports suggest that the PCB has agreed to the ‘hybrid’ model which means India would be playing it’s matches in Dubai.

 The ICC will reportedly be facing financial consequences if they fail to announce the schedule of the tournament before the contractual deadline. As per the contract, the ICC had to announce the official schedule of the Champions Trophy 90 days before the start of the tournament, and also convey the message to all stakeholders involved. 

Meanwhile, both the PCB and BCCI have reportedly agreed that the Pakistan team will not travel to India for the 2026 T20 World Cup. Instead, the Men in Green will be playing their share of matches in Colombo, Sri Lanka. Pakistan has reportedly also been offered to become the host of an ICC Women’s tournament as ‘compensation’.
