Snow comes down in parts of NY, NJ amid winter weather advisory

0

NEW YORK (PIX11) – Snow is blanketing parts of New York and New Jersey Monday morning amid a winter weather advisory.

The advisory is in effect for northern Westchester, Orange, Putnam, Rockland, Ulster and Dutchess counties in New York. Morris, western Passaic and Warren counties in New Jersey are also under the advisory through Monday morning.

Some areas could see between 1-3 inches of snow, according to the National Weather Service. Roads are slippery and icy, which could impact your Monday morning commute.

We can expect rain and snow ending Monday morning with mostly cloudy skies for the afternoon. Temperatures will climb throughout the day with a high of 48 in the city and mid-40s to low-50s in the suburbs.

Tuesday will be cloudy with rain early followed by clearing skies as another weak storm system passes through the area. Temperatures will feel more like spring with a high of 60 in the city and upper-50s to low-60s in the suburbs.

Wednesday will be mostly cloudy and mild with a high of 51 in the city and low to mid-50s in the suburbs.

Thursday will be mostly cloudy with periods of rain for the city, mixing with snow north and west as another system moves through the region. The high temperatures will be 48 in the city and upper-40s to near 50 in the suburbs.

Friday will be partly cloudy, windy, and colder as high pressure will move into the region from the west. Temperatures will be in the upper-30s to low-40s or much of the area.
