Jasprit Bumrah breaks former Indian spinner’s 50+-year-old record for best Bowling figures
India’s star pacer Jasprit Bumrah made history on December 16, at the Gabba, Brisbane. Bumrah became the first Indian pacer to have taken six wickets in an innings in that venue. Bumrah broke the previous record for the best numbers in bowling, that had been there for more than five and a half decades.
This record was previously on the name of India’s legendary off-spinner Erapalli Prasanna. He had taken six wickets for 104 runs in 33.4 overs in 1968. In that match, India had lost by 39 runs
Now, Bumrah has his name secured on the top of the list with six wickets for 65 runs in 38 overs,

Bumrah’s overall bowling figures at the venue are the top sixth by a bowler who is from a visiting country. The top spot is secured by legendary New Zealand pacer Richard Hadlee, who had secured 9 wickets for 52 runs in 1985.
The previous record for best bowling figures was held by Indian pacer Madan Lal. Madan had taken 5 wickets for 72 runs in 1977. However, Mohammed Siraj and Zaheer Khan have also registered a fifer in Brisbane as well.
