Gujarat Giants WPL 2025 Auction: Indian star taken for Rs. 1.9 crore along with World cup-winning player
Gujarat Giants (GG) had a fabulous day out in the Women’s Premier League (WPL) 2025 auction, as they successfully secured the service of two big names for the upcoming season. The franchise solidified their squad as they signed four players.
GG also secured the services of West Indies’ World Cup-winner Deandra Dottin and Indian star Simran Shaikh in the mini-auction, along with England’s Danielle Gibson and India’s Prakashika Naik.
GG had retained 14 players before the mini-auction as they had the largest purse of Rs. 4.4 crore. The franchise will look to give a strong performance in the inaugural WPL season, and the inclusion of two star players will only secure powerful performance in the tournament.
Even though the team finished at the bottom of the table in the inaugural season, the team retained managed to retain their key players before the auctions, and will be eyeing to grab their first WPL title in the 2025 season.

Deandra Dottin (WI) – Rs. 1.70 crore
Danielle Gibson (ENG) – Rs. 30 lakh
