Jennifer Love Hewitt Did This for Son Aiden to ‘Save Him a Lifetime of Therapy Appointments'

Jennifer Love Hewitt‘s new holiday movie is coming out tonight, and ahead of the premiere, she talked about how she incorporated her youngest son, Aiden, into the movie so he wouldn’t be the odd man out.

For those who don’t know, tonight, on Dec 14, a Lifetime movie called The Holiday Junkie. Hewitt has written, directed, and is starring in it. It follows a woman who ran a decorating company with her mother. After her mother’s passing, she has to navigate her first Christmas without her mother, along with finding love and holiday magic. It also stars her husband, Brian Hallisay, and has an appearance from their three kids, yes, including the youngest, Aidan, who’s only three years old.

During a recent appearance on the Jennifer Hudson Show, she revealed she brought Aidan in to “save him a lifetime of therapy appointments.”

“Here’s the funny part, the two big kids are in the movie a couple of times, and then I realized on the last day of filming that we did not put the baby in the movie,” she said. “I got this flash of him being 30, the movie running 125 times and him being in therapy saying, ‘My family left me out of the family Christmas movie.’ So I said, ‘we got him a work permit for it,’ and we threw him in the snow scene there for five seconds, and he was so happy.”

We literally can’t wait to see them all on screen together!

For those who don’t know, the I Know What You Did Last Summer star and her husband Hallisay have welcomed three kids since tying the knot in Nov 2013.

They welcomed their eldest: a daughter named Autumn James, born in Nov 2013, only a few days after tying the knot. Since then, they’ve also welcomed two sons named Atticus James, born in June 2015, and Aiden James, born in Aug 2021.

In a previous interview with SheKnows, Hewitt talked with us about her movie, and what her favorite moment on set was with Hallisay and their three children.

When asked about her favorite moment on set, she did reveal that while there “were lots” — but there was one moment that was a “perfect moment.”

“We decided to add this snow moment in the movie in her honor,” referring to her mother, and how, along with that, she also brought a Santa on set for the cast and crew to announce the wrapping. “All three kids were there. We finally got Aidan in the movie for two seconds. We were in the snow and it was so awesome. We all like jumped up and down and cried. I just felt such a full heart, felt like I had done this thing that was sort of my dream coming true I got to do with all of my favorite people. And it just felt like a perfect moment.”
