Ice Spice Takes Skims NYC Opening to New Heights With Towering Y2K-Inspired Platform Shoes
Ice Spice was spotted celebrating the grand opening of the Skims store in New York City.
Clad in leopard print, the rapper donned a head-to-toe animal print which left her stylishly twinning with Cardi B and Paris Hilton.
Ice Spice showcased a layered look, starting with a classic turtleneck as a base. Over this, she added a corset, creating a contrast between the soft, comfortable fabric of the turtleneck and the structured, form-fitting silhouette of the corset. This combination added visual interest and depth to her ensemble.
For the lower half of her outfit, Ice Spice chose structured pants that resembled leggings in their design. These pants provided a sleek and streamlined look while likely offering the same comfort and flexibility as traditional leggings. The structured element of the pants added a touch of sophistication and balanced the more casual feel of the turtleneck.
When it came to footwear, she selected a pair of black peep-toe platforms, adding a striking touch to her ensemble. The shoes, featuring a chunky block heel and a thick platform, evoked a sense of nostalgia, harkening back to the bold and unapologetic fashion trends of the 1990s. This particular style of shoe, with its dramatic elevation and confident silhouette, has experienced a resurgence in popularity, becoming a staple in the wardrobes of fashion-forward individuals who appreciate both its retro appeal and its ability to make a statement. The black color of the platforms added a versatile and timeless element.
Skims celebrated the grand opening of its flagship store on Fifth Avenue with a lavish evening event, followed by an exclusive dinner at the prestigious ZZ’s Club. The guest list included a mix of celebrities, like Teyana Taylor, Paris Hilton, Coco Jones, Lala Anthony and Cardi B. The event was hosted by Kardashian, and Co-Founder & CEO, Jens Grede, marking a significant milestone for the brand.
