The season so far
The Spiders go into this one on the back of wins over Partick Thistle, on penalties, Rangers B and Airdrieonians last time out at Hampden. Last Saturday’s 2-0 win at home left Queen’s sitting fifth in the William Hill Championship having played 16 matches.
John Rankin’s side currently occupy seventh spot in the table and go into the game on the back a 3-2 defeat away to Dunfermline Athletic last Saturday. Having went behind to a Matty Todd goal just before the hour mark, Accies pulled level courtesy of Sean McGinty with little over 15 minutes to play. Goals from Josh Cooper and Aaron Comrie followed and proved enough to win it for the Pars despite a late Oli Shaw penalty.
