Erapalli Prasanna

1. Erapalli Prasanna – 6/104

During India’s tour of Australia back in 1968, the former spinner completely bamboozled the Australian batters in Brisbane and picked up a highly impressive 6-wicket haul to restrict the hosts to a second inning total of 294. However, despite Prasanna’s incredible efforts, India would go on to lose the match by 39 runs.

Bishan Singh Bedi

2. Bishan Singh Bedi – 5/55

During India’s tour of Australia back in 1977, the former left-arm spinner proved to be excellent for the visitors at The Gabba. The Australian batters would struggle to read Bedi throughout the first innings as the spinner racked up a brilliant 5-wicket haul, massively helping India in bundling out the hosts for 166. Despite Bedi’s valiant efforts, India would end up losing the match by 16 runs.

Madan Lal

3. Madan Lal – 5/72

The former Indian pacer took a fifer in the same match as Bedi. During Australia’s second innings, Madan bowled really well and picked up key wickets which saw the hosts get bundled out for 327 runs, setting a target of 341 for the visitors. If it wasn’t for Madan’s fantastic bowling spell, Australia would have piled up a massive total and would have given India a target well out of their reach.

Mohammed Siraj

4. Mohammed Siraj – 5/73

The Indian pacer’s superb bowling spell was crucial to the Men in Blue’s famous victory over Australia at The Gabba in the 2020/21 Border-Gavaskar series. Siraj’s 5-wicket haul massively helped India in bundling out Australia for 294 in their second innings, setting up a target of 328 for the visitors. Valiant knocks from Shubman Gill and Rishabh Pant carried India to the victory by 3 wickets and win the 4-match series by 2-1.

Zaheer Khan

5. Zaheer Khan – 5/95

The former left-arm Indian pacer bowled an absolutely terrific spell against Australia in Brisbane during the 2003/04 Border-Gavaskar series. Zaheer dismissed the likes of Matthew Hayden, Ricky Ponting and Steve Waugh to help India in restricting the hosts a first inning total of 323. India would eventually be given a target of 199 to chase, however they would run out of time and finish on 73/2 on the final day as the match ended in a draw at The Gabba.
