ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- A new state law in New York is expected to make lifesaving medicine more affordable.

Gov. Kathy Hochul signed a bill that requires health insurance companies to cover the cost of EpiPens. The law also caps out-of-pocket costs at $100 per year.

The devices are used to treat life-threatening allergic reactions. Prices have increased steadily over the past decade and can cost hundreds of dollars.
