Injured Tottenham man ‘closes the door’ on proposed January transfer
There has been a big update on the future of one Tottenham forward, who is the subject of transfer interest ahead of the January window.
Tottenham man’s fitness woes continue
Spurs have simply been unable to get Richarlison onto the pitch for any length of time since the start of 2024, with the Brazilian constantly breaking down with one injury after another.
Ange Postecoglou admitted last month that it has been frustrating to see the 27-year-old’s fitness struggles, pointing out that he has contributed valuably to his system whenever he has been fit.
However, in the very same press conference, the Spurs head coach also confessed that the club will look to bolster their options upfront in January.
Richarlison turns down January transfer
Diario AS reporter Eduardo Burgos has now taken to social media to reveal that Richalrison has been the subject of interest from Saudi Arabia again after following their failed approach in the summer.
However, once again, the Tottenham man has now closed the door on a move to the Middle East as his goal is to get into Brazil’s squad for the 2026 World Cup.
The journalist adds that for the moment, the former Everton man has ruled out leaving the North London side.
Tottenham might not mind cashing in on Richarlison
If Spurs do add a forward to their squad in January as we expect them to, they might not mind cashing in on Richarlison, given his fitness woes.
However, that is probably not going to happen in the winter, with the situation likely to be re-assessed in the summer.
One would think that if the Spurs were to bring another striker through the door, that would limit the opportunities that Richarlison would get in the second half of the season.
