NFL spread picks Week 15: No one is falling for the Eagles covering against the Steelers

0

It’s safe to say our success in Week 13 absolutely made our experts way, way too overconfident in Week 14. After Thanksgiving saw all of our panelists earn at least nine wins, Week 14 was a humbling mess of mediocrity. No one finished better than 6-7.

We also have a new leader atop the scoreboard as Christian D’Andrea grabbed first place by one game.

Week 15 won’t get much easier, however. Not with divisional matchups like Bills-Lions, Chiefs-Browns and Buccaneers-Chargers on tap.

We may be in for another mess as the regular season hits the home stretch. Buckle up and tail (or fade) responsibly if you must.

Name Last Week YTD
Christian D’Andrea 5-8 115-89-3
Blake Schuster 5-8 114-90-3
Charles Curtis 4-9 108-96-3
Robert Zeglinski 6-7 105-99-3
Prince Grimes 6-7 103-101-3
Cory Woodroof 5-8 100-104-3

All odds via BetMGM

Los Angeles Rams at San Francisco 49ers (Thursday night)

Opening Line: 49ers -6.5

Blake Schuster: Rams +3

Not a pick I particularly enjoy but LA has to be feeling good after that win against the Bills. The 49ers may be overconfident from playing a Bears team more broken than San Francisco is.

Prince Grimes: Rams +3

Rams may very well win this.

Charles Curtis: Rams +3

Ugh I hate this.

Cory Woodroof: Rams +3

The Niners feel cooked.

Robert Zeglinski: Rams +3

The Rams have gone 6-2 after a 1-4 start. Basically no one has figured out how to stop Matthew Stafford and Sean McVay. I’m not about to bet on the 49ers doing so, who usually get so much grief from these Rams.

Christian D’Andrea: Rams +3

What’s the Niners best win at home? The Bears? What’s their best win in general? The Bucs? And now they’ve gotta handle their business with a fourth string running back?

Kansas City Chiefs at Cleveland Browns

Opening Line: Chiefs -2.5

Blake Schuster: Browns +4

Myles Garrett, please end the Chiefs’ devil magic. You’re our only hope.

Prince Grimes: Chiefs -4

The Chiefs don’t cover many spreads, but neither do the Browns.

Charles Curtis: Browns +4

Listen: There’s a lot of black magic around the Chiefs. They’re going to win but Jameis is going to will the Browns to a cover.

Cory Woodroof: Chiefs -4

C’mon.

Robert Zeglinski: Chiefs -4

The Chiefs have been one of the NFL’s worst teams against the spread this year. They’re 10-0 in one-score games. They’re due for an alarm-bells loss, but Jameis Winston isn’t the shepherd for that.

Christian D’Andrea: Browns +4

The way this season is going I fully expect this game to come down to a missed Dustin Hopkins field goal.

Cincinnati Bengals at Tennessee Titans

Opening Line: Bengals -4.5

Blake Schuster: Bengals -5

I weirdly dislike this line but can’t go against Joe Burrow and Ja’Marr Chase right now.

Prince Grimes: Bengals -5

The Titans are gonna need more than 6 points to keep up.

Charles Curtis: Bengals -5

Cincy’s D is bad but they can win this game by a touchdown.

Cory Woodroof: Bengals -5

The Titans are reeling.

Robert Zeglinski: Bengals -5

The Bengals are riding out the last few of a bygone era. It’s like “The Last Dance” if the team in question never won anything at all. Let them have this.

Christian D’Andrea: Bengals -5

The Titans faced the NFL’s worst defense last week and scored six points. Finally, a reprieve for the Bengals’ awful D.

Washington Commanders at New Orleans Saints

Opening Line: Saints -3

Blake Schuster: Commanders -7.5

A 10-point swing from the line opening really tells you everything here.

Prince Grimes: Commanders -7.5

Coming out of its bye, Washington gets to feast on a rookie QB with little help.

Charles Curtis: Commanders -7.5

Hey, who’s starting at QB for the Saints?

Cory Woodroof: Commanders -7.5

With Derek Carr, this would be closer than expected. Without him? Yikes.

Robert Zeglinski: Commanders -7.5

Kliff Kingsbury is still drawing his plays on truck stop napkins but there’s no way in HELL I’m giving Jake Haener or Spencer Rattler the benefit of the doubt.

Christian D’Andrea: Commanders -7.5

Spencer Rattler lost his first two home starts by a combined 47 points.

Baltimore Ravens at New York Giants

Opening Line: Ravens -6.5

Blake Schuster: Giants +15

BAH GAWD THAT’S TOMMY DEVITO’S MUSIC (AGAIN)

Prince Grimes: Ravens -15

The spread is large. The gap in talent on these teams is larger.

Charles Curtis: Ravens -15

The Giants are tanking so hard right now.

Cory Woodroof: Ravens -15

Look, this spread is outrageous, but the Ravens clobber games like this.

Robert Zeglinski: Ravens -15

As a football fan who lives almost entirely off spite, I can’t wait to be sustained by the ceaseless drama of Deion and Shedeur Sanders in New York. As a football media member, I’m already exhausted just thinking about it.

Christian D’Andrea: Giants +15

The week? 15. The spread? 15. Tommy DeVito, our returning conquerer’s jersey number? 15. TIME TO MAKE A STUPID DECISION BASED SOLELY ON COINCIDENCE.

Dallas Cowboys at Carolina Panthers

Opening Line: Cowboys -6.5

Blake Schuster: Cowboys +2.5

Before the season we assumed Dallas would be able to win this game with half its roster asleep. We’ll now we can kinda find out.

Prince Grimes: Cowboys +2.5

I’m picking the Panthers to win but I’m not bold enough to lay points with them.

Charles Curtis: Panthers -2.5

Hard to bet on the mess that is the Cowboys right now.

Cory Woodroof: Cowboys +2.5

Bryce Young has been impressive, but the Cowboys might pull one off here after a disappointing MNF loss.

Robert Zeglinski: Panthers -2.5

Bryce Young was one Xavier Legette drop from beating the best defense in the league on the road. Forgive me if I don’t believe in the Cowboys to provide as much resistance.

Christian D’Andrea: Panthers -2.5

This line suggests the Cowboys are slightly better than the Panthers at a neutral site. The last four weeks suggest that is extremely not the case.

New York Jets at Jacksonville Jaguars

Opening Line: Jets -1

Blake Schuster: Jets -3.5

Savor this win, New York. There might not be any left.

Prince Grimes: Jets -3.5

Finally, the Jets get to play a team sadder than they are.

Charles Curtis: Jaguars +3.5

Can’t fool me. The Jets shouldn’t be favorites on the road even against this bad team.

Cory Woodroof: Jets -3.5

The Jaguars are in hell…but so are the Jets. I guess I’ll go with the favorite?

Robert Zeglinski: Jets -3.5

Mac Jones is averaging 176 passing yards per game as a Jaguar. His average yards per attempt is less than six. Again, these are averages. The Jets are awful, but even they can beat up on a teal piñata.

Christian D’Andrea: Jets -3.5

Time for Aaron Rodgers to play his final card in his dismantling of New York; tanking the team’s 2025 NFL Draft position.

Miami Dolphins at Houston Texans

Opening Line: Texans -2.5

Blake Schuster: Dolphins +3

I just don’t know how I’m supposed to trust the Texans right now.

Prince Grimes: Dolphins +3

The Dolphins are doing that late-season playoff push thing they like to do.

Charles Curtis: Dolphins +3

Speaking of teams I don’t trust right now: the Texans!

Cory Woodroof: Texans -3

I think Houston can pull things together to snag a close win.

Robert Zeglinski: Dolphins +3

The Texans have been so uninspiring that they’re, once again, destined for the boring Saturday wild-card game slot only obsessed football fans will watch a month from now.

Christian D’Andrea: Texans -3

Neither team is especially trustworthy, so give me the home team coming off a bye.

Indianapolis Colts at Denver Broncos

Opening Line: Colts -2.5

Blake Schuster: Broncos -4

Everything is set up perfectly for Denver here. I’m officially scared.

Prince Grimes: Broncos -4

Give me Denver for the late front-door cover.

Charles Curtis: Broncos -4

Off the bye! I like Denver in this spot.

Cory Woodroof: Broncos -4

The Colts need retooling.

Robert Zeglinski: Broncos -4

Sean Payton, off a bye, with a OROY contender quarterback and a top-five defense. Against Anthony Richardson. This should be free money.

Christian D’Andrea: Broncos -4

Anthony Richardson in high altitude. He might throw a deep route out of the stadium.

Buffalo Bills at Detroit Lions

Opening Line: Lions -2

Blake Schuster: Bills +2.5

I’m not strong enough to turn down free points for this Bills team. Especially in a dome.

Prince Grimes: Lions -2.5

Buffalo’s defense looked real edible in that game against the Rams, and the Lions like to eat.

Charles Curtis: Lions -2.5

A real prove-it game for Detroit against a terrific Bills team, but I think the home team by a field goal works.

Cory Woodroof: Bills +2.5

The Lions’ defensive injuries might catch up with them this week.

Robert Zeglinski: Bills +2.5: The Lions are the best team in the league. But they’re a bit banged-up right now and are kinda overdue for a loss like this. They should rest easy knowing they might see Buffalo again in February.

Christian D’Andrea: Lions -2.5

Detroit has so, so much to throw at Buffalo and I don’t think the Bills have the defense to keep up.

Pittsburgh Steelers at Philadelphia Eagles

Opening Line: Eagles -4.5

Blake Schuster: Steelers +5.5

All hail Mike Tomlin, our underdog king

Prince Grimes: Steelers +5.5

I don’t even really understand this spread. You can’t give Pittsburgh this many points.

Charles Curtis: Steelers +5.5

The Eagles are good, but Mike Tomlin’s squad will keep it close.

Cory Woodroof: Steelers +5.5

I trust Saquon Barkley, but I don’t trust the Eagles.

Robert Zeglinski: Steelers +5.5

The Eagles have everything but a quarterback you can trust. Don’t believe me? Just watch A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith’s body language any time Jalen Hurts doesn’t pull the trigger when they’re open. At least Hurts has no precedent of throwing his teammates under the bus over his struggles … oh. Wait.

Christian D’Andrea: Steelers +5.5

This is too many points to lay against a competent Steelers team.

New England Patriots at Arizona Cardinals

Opening Line: Cardinals -3.5

Blake Schuster: Patriots +5.5

A true gamble here on a east coast team playing in warm Arizona with a midday kickoff after a bye week.

Prince Grimes: Cardinals -5.5

Cards at home shouldn’t have a problem taking care of NE.

Charles Curtis: Cardinals -5.5

I don’t like either side, but sure.

Cory Woodroof: Cardinals -5.5

The Patriots have their QB for the future, but the Cards are better right now.

Robert Zeglinski: Cardinals -5.5

Arizona’s deep passing game has evaporated and Jonathan Gannon’s defense needs an injection of star talent to hold up for an entire season. Fortunately, the Cardinals need neither of these things against the Patriots.

Christian D’Andrea: Cardinals -5.5

Arizona needs a get right game. Its biggest defensive flaw is a lack of pressure. Behold, the NFL’s worst pass protecting offensive line.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers at Los Angeles Chargers

Opening Line: Chargers -3

Blake Schuster: Chargers -3

I hate it when my favorite two ATS children fight

Prince Grimes: Buccaneers +3

The Chargers miss JK Dobbins.

Charles Curtis: Chargers -3

Can’t stop, won’t stop backing Jim Harbaugh against mediocre teams.

Cory Woodroof: Chargers -3

The Buccaneers are feisty, but the Chargers are a machine.

Robert Zeglinski: Chargers -3

L.A. was a doink away from beating the Chiefs on the road. The Buccaneers do not get such faith.

Christian D’Andrea: Chargers -3

Los Angeles can grind this game down to a nub, which is right where Jim Harbaugh wants it.

Green Bay Packers at Seattle Seahawks (Sunday night)

Opening Line: Packers -1

Blake Schuster: Packers -3

A must-win for Green Bay in an environment that mimics Lambeau Field as well as any stadium in the league.

Prince Grimes: Seahawks +3

Two teams jockeying for playoff position. I’ll take the points.

Charles Curtis: Packers -3

They’ve got to keep up in the NFC North race, and they will.

Cory Woodroof: Packers -3

Who knows what this Green Bay’s ceiling is?

Robert Zeglinski: Seahawks +3

Geno Smith is playing the best football of his career and the Seahawks’ defense has been incredible during a four-game winning streak. The Packers are a mirage propped up by Matt LaFleur.

Christian D’Andrea: Seahawks +3

Mike Macdonald’s unorthodox, rising defense against Matt LaFleur’s unorthodox, rising offense. Gimme the points.

Chicago Bears at Minnesota Vikings (Monday night)

Opening Line: Bears -1

Blake Schuster: Vikings -7

This spread might not be big enough.

Prince Grimes: Vikings -7

Minnesota is in a groove.

Charles Curtis: Vikings -7

I have stopped doubting Sam Darnold, even in a divisional game.

Cory Woodroof: Bears +7

I dunno. The Vikings are good. The Bears feel like a trap game for them. I at least expect this to be closer than the spread.

Robert Zeglinski: Vikings -7

Caleb Williams already used up his red-cape hero performance against Brian Flores this season. He’s not catching the Vikings off guard again.

Christian D’Andrea: Vikings -7

I hate all things Bears betting related, whether it’s for or against them. Completely untrustworthy team in either direction.

Atlanta Falcons at Las Vegas Raiders (Monday night)

Opening Line: Falcons -1

Blake Schuster: Raiders +4

Sure, let’s get weird.

Prince Grimes: Falcons -4

But I don’t feel good about it.

Charles Curtis: Falcons -4

DESMOND RIDDER REVENGE GAME? LOLOLOLOL.

Cory Woodroof: Falcons -4

Robert Zeglinski: Falcons -4

Can you imagine how funny it would be if Desmond Ridder beat the quarterback who replaced him as the Falcons’ season spirals down the toilet? It’s not gonna happen but hoo boy am I rooting for it.

Christian D’Andrea: Raiders +4

Kirk Cousins loses his mind under mild pressure and now he’s facing Maxx Crosby. What’s the under on this game??
