SC no to survey of religious places, registration of suits

The Supreme Court directed trial courts to halt orders or surveys against existing religious structures in ongoing disputes. While fresh suits can be filed, no action will be taken until further orders. The court is reviewing the Places of Worship Act of 1991, which protects the religious character of structures as of August 15, 1947.
