COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Milestone 229, a Downtown restaurant near the Scioto Mile Fountain, is permanently closing after 14 years of business.

Located at 229 S. Civic Center Drive, Milestone announced on social media on Wednesday that it will shutter for good on New Year's Eve. The restaurant's post said it has "enjoyed sharing our time with you for the past 14 years and helping you celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, graduations and so much more."

"We were unable to reach new lease terms with the city of Columbus that were favorable to both parties and our last day of operations will be Dec. 31," Milestone said. "We hope you'll stop in one last time to enjoy a cocktail or have a meal with us. Thank you to all our guests, we've been honored to be a part of your lives."

Boasted as a one-of-a-kind experience, Milestone is home to views of Downtown and an extensive menu that includes soups, salads, sandwiches and entrees like short rib tortellini and fried chicken. A selection of cocktails, beer, wine and dessert round of the eatery's offerings.

Until closure, Milestone is open 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday.
