Plane crash in Victoria roadway hit three cars Wednesday, police said
VICTORIA, Texas (KIAH) -- A small plane crashed into a major intersection in Victoria, hitting three cars, police said.
Police said that around 3 p.m. Wednesday, a small plane landed in the intersection of Mockingbird Lane and the feeder road of the Zac Lentz Parkway. The crash involved the plane and three vehicles.
According to a Facebook update from the police department, five people were involved in the crash, and four were transported for treatment. Of those, three had non-life-threatening injuries, and one person was flown to an out-of-town hospital for treatment.
Police said they requested the Texas Department of Public Safety take over the investigation, and the Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating the crash.
This came a day after another small plane crashed in Smithville while departing the Smithville Crawford Municipal Airport in Smithville, according to the FAA.
In that incident, the plane crashed in a field shortly after it departed from the airport, and only the pilot was involved, the FAA said.
