Predicted Tottenham XI to face Rangers

Goalkeeper – Fraser Forster: With Spurs likely to field a makeshift back four in this game, it is highly improbable that Ange Postecoglou will make further changes to disrupt the defence. Forster should therefore retain his place in goal.

Right-back – Pedro Porro: Few changes are expected to an already struggling backline, so Porro is likely to continue at right-back.

Centre-back – Radu Dragusin: With Cristian Romero injured, Spurs will rely on Dragusin to fill the right-sided centre-back role once again.

Centre-back – Archie Gray: With Davies and Van de Ven set to miss this game, Postecoglou will most likely deploy Gray as the left-sided centre-back in what will be a makeshift back four.

Left-back – Destiny Udogie: Udogie is expected to retain his place at left-back, as Ange will want some stability in the defensive line. The need for another full-back cannot be overstated.

Pivot midfielder – Rodrigo Bentancur: With his seven-match domestic ban in effect, Bentancur is almost certain to start in European competitions for Tottenham for the foreseeable future.

Central midfielder – Lucas Bergvall: Postecoglou is likely to freshen up his midfield for this match, with Lucas Bergvall expected to feature once again in Europe.

Central midfielder – James Maddison: Maddison was rested during the weekend game against Chelsea, so he should be fully fit and ready to start in this match.

Right-midfielder – Dejan Kulusevski: Brennan Johnson appeared to pick up a slight knock against Chelsea, meaning Kulusevski is likely to shift to the right while Johnson sits this one out.

Striker – Will Lankshear: Ange has been rotating key players in select games, and this week could see Solanke given a much-needed rest. Lankshear, fresh off his suspension, is expected to lead the line.

Left-midfielder – Heung-min Son: With injuries to Mikey Moore, Odobert and Richarlison, Son is likely to start on the left, aiming to lead his side to victory.
