Donald Trump has made another bold administration appointment, and this time it has to do with one of his children’s dating lives. On Tuesday, less than an hour after “Page Six” reported that Don Jr. had broken up with his fiancée, Kimberly Guilfoyle, Trump announced on Truth Social that Guilfoyle will be the U.S. ambassador to Greece. The timing is a little too on the nose even for the Trumps, don’t you think?

Guilfoyle, who started dating Don Jr. in 2018 and got engaged to him in 2020, wrote on X that she looks forward to “supporting our Greek allies.” Something she might also be looking forward to: putting 5,000 miles between herself and her former fiancé, whom tabloids say has been canoodling with Republican socialite Bettina Anderson for months now. Rumors have been swirling about Don Jr. and Anderson since July, when she was seen sitting behind him and Guilfoyle at the Republican National Convention. Don Jr. and Guilfoyle put up a united front shortly before and after the election, but now that the Daily Mail has published photographs of Don Jr. and Anderson holding hands, it seems Guilfoyle has accepted the inevitable and the engagement has officially come to an end. As a consolation prize of sorts, Don Jr. offered a supportive tweet upon her appointment, writing, “I am so proud of Kimberly. She loves America and she always has wanted to serve the country as an Ambassador. She will be an amazing leader for America First.”

Guilfoyle may not see it this way yet, but in my eyes, she’s actually coming out of this breakup on top — she gets to spend the next four years feasting on keftedes by the Mediterranean while her ex chokes down Big Macs with Elon Musk.
