When Mikey Moore is expected to return from virus at Spurs
Mikey Moore has been sidelined by an unknown ‘virus’ since early November when Spurs faced Galatasaray and news has now been revealed about when he is likely to return.
Mikey Moore’s breakthrough season at Spurs
Mikey Moore has caused a lot of hype while playing for Tottenham this season. Although just 17-years-old, he has already appeared 10 times for the senior side, with eight of those coming this season.
Although he has yet to secure a goal contribution in the men’s first team, Moore has impressed with his confident play on the ball and superb dribbling, which has perhaps prematurely seen him compared with a young Lionel Messi by supporters.
But it has been a difficult few weeks for Moore, as he has now missed seven matches in all competitions due to an unnamed virus.
With Timo Werner’s disappointing performances and Heung-min-Son also spending some time on the sidelines, due to injury, Moore may have made a few more appearances, had he not been struck down by his illness.
Mikey Moore’s Spurs return will not be imminent
Many supporters will be wondering when Mikey Moore is expected to return to Spurs training. New information has now been revealed, and we could be in for a wait.
Speaking on The Tottenham Way podcast, Dan Kilpatrick has explained that one of the symptoms of Moore’s illness has meant he has not been able to play football and will keep him out beyond the conclusion of this year.
Listing a number of unavailable Spurs players, he said: “You consider at the moment that Vicario is out with a contact injury. Romero was out with a contact injury. Bentancur is suspended, that’s an anomaly if you like, Mikey Moore is recovering from an energy-sapping virus, so he will be out until the new year.”
Tottenham’s underwhelming left-winger options
Although Son is now fully fit, he faced a lot of criticism for his performance against Chelsea, despite scoring a late consolation goal, while Werner has been blasted for his poor finishing, but right now Spurs are lacking in other options without Moore.
One positive is that it should not be long until we see Yang-Min-Hyeok in action for Tottenham, who is able to play on the left wing as well as the right, but the sooner Moore returns, the better it is for Tottenham as they attempt to climb back up the Premier League table.
