2024: Year in Science

There were plenty of reasons to look up this year: millions of people in North America were awed by an eclipse, and solar storms saved millions more a trip to witness aurora borealis. Space missions brought us rocks from the moon and pictures of Jupiter back to Earth. But there were also reasons to look down: fossilized footprints suggested two types of ancient humans crossed paths, and scientists mapped the tiny brain of a fruit fly.
