Laura Benanti Honored By Broadway Dreams for Being an Inspiration to Young Artists Worldwide
Laura Benanti is being celebrated by the Broadway community!
The Tony-winning actress was presented with a special award at the Broadway Dreams Gala on Saturday (December 7) at the Plaza Hotel in New York City.
“Through her exceptional talent, versatility, and commitment to supporting arts education and other charitable causes, Laura Benanti serves as a powerful inspiration for our Dreamers and young artists worldwide,” Broadway Dreams founder Annette Tanner said in a statement.
The event also honored Carnival Cruise Line president Christine Duffy with the Founder’s Award.
Laura was joined at the event by her husband Patrick Brown. Other attendees included Jonathan Bennett and husband Jaymes Vaughn, Tony winners J. Harrison Ghee and Alex Newell, and Broadway choreographer and director Spencer Liff.
Founded in 2006, Broadway Dreams offers mentorship-driven performing arts training programs throughout the year. It draws on a wide network of teaching artists from the Broadway community and inspires students to awaken their highest potential.
