Match Preview

It’s the second Fife derby of the season this Saturday, as James McPake’s Dunfermline side visit Stark’s Park in a vital Championship fixture.

The Pars moved above Rovers in the table last weekend after a 3-2 home win over Hamilton Accies, a win that pushed them up to sixth in the table, albeit on goal difference, with four teams now locked together on 15 points.

Raith’s 3-0 loss to Falkirk shunted them down to eight in the table and are only above ninth placed Morton by a single goal.

The reverse fixture at East End Park in September was Neill Collins first league game in charge of the club, and it ended up a difficult evening, as 10 man Raith lost by two goals to nil.

Euan Murray’s early dismissal left Rovers up against it, and second half goals from Ewan Otoo and David Wotherspoon handed Dunfermline their first 90 minute win over Rovers since April 2022.

Rovers do have a good home record in this fixture, with their last loss coming back in the New Year’s fixture back in 2017, and despite the most recent defeat, Rovers have a fine recent record in the fixture, with five wins and three draws from the last 10 meetings.

Saturday’s match referee will be Calum Scott.

Head-to-Head Record:

Raith Rovers wins: 48

Dunfermline Athletic wins: 53

Draws: 31
