• Out of nowhere, the Guardians traded Andres Gimenez (and Nick Sandlin) to Toronto for Spencer Horwitz and Nick Mitchell.
• Then the Guardians traded Spencer Horwitz to the Pirates for Luis Ortiz, Josh Hartle and Michael Kennedy.
  Inches from the World Series, the Guardians have slashed payroll again.
• Max Fried signed with the Yankees.
• Nathan Eovaldi signed with the Rangers.
• the Rangers also got Jake Burger from Miami.
• Alex Cobb’s deal with Detroit was revealed to be for fifteen million dollars. How? I don’t know. I wouldn’t have been willing to guarantee more than 40% of that.
• The Nationals won the draft lottery.
