Fentanyl spill leads to evacuation of Bronx building: sources
THE BRONX, N.Y. (PIX11) – A building in the Bronx was evacuated due to a fentanyl spill on Tuesday, authorities said.
Police responded to a 911 call at 3:01 p.m. at 780 Garden St. A six-story building, which also houses a day care, was cleared out after a fentanyl spill was uncovered, according to a law enforcement source.
A video posted to the Citizen app showed multiple FDNY fire trucks and EMS workers at the scene.
A special narcotics investigation in the building uncovered 12 kilos of fentanyl, according to a source. A hazmat team is currently on the scene, sources said.
