Late goals secure another good win
COLWYN BAY’s young Reserve team gained an impressive 3-2 away win against a strong Porthmadog Development team in the FAW Reserve League North West, with two goals in the last 10 minutes securing the three points.
The young Seagulls took the lead with a tidy finish from Owen Thomas after 18 minutes, but Porthmadog were level at half-time thanks to a 29th minute equaliser from Aaron Wyn Jones.
In a closely fought second half the game looked o be heading for a draw, but two late goals in the space of six minutes swung it Colwyn Bay’s way.
Amaan Khan came off the bench to make it 2-1 on 84 minutes and then Max McGoona got a third, before a late consolation goal for Porthmadog by Hari Griffith deep into added time.
Bay go joint top of the table with Llandudno Reserves, having a played a game more, ahead of Saturday’s home game against Llanrwst United Reserves (2pm kick-off).
