Halfmoon man arrested for allegedly having drugs, gun
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (NEWS10)-- Saratoga Springs Police arrested a Halfmoon man during a traffic stop for allegedly possessing cocaine and a shotgun. Police arrested Jeremy P. Howard, 48, on Friday, December 6.
Police said they received a call about a vehicle leaving the scene of a one-car accident on South Broadway around 11:30 p.m. Law enforcement stopped the car on Route 9 near Crescent Avenue and identified the driver as Howard.
While stopped, police noticed drug paraphernalia and other items in the car before requesting a K9 unit to respond to the stop. Officer Bill Arpei and K9 Vas responded, with Vas alerting to narcotics in the vehicle.
In addition to the drug paraphernalia, police searched the car and found 6.1 grams of cocaine, $1,980 in cash, and a shotgun. Howard was arraigned in Saratoga Springs City Court and released without bail.
