BREAKING: Mike Gundy, OSU Agree to Restructured Contract
Stillwater, OK - Mike Gundy and Oklahoma State have agreed in principal on a restructured contract for him to remain as OSU head coach, Dylan Buckingham has confirmed.
Robert Allen of Pokes Report was first to report the move.
The deal caps off a tumultuous 24 hours that included a Board of Regents meeting where Gundy’s tenure was firmly in question.
Sources tell KFOR that Gundy’s deal includes a pay cut and language that gives him less autonomy in hiring coordinators. However, Gundy will still have a large say in who’s hired.
In 20 years at OSU Gundy has just two losing seasons. He’s helped OSU to a Big 12 title and two Fiesta Bowl championships.
The next step for Oklahoma State is hiring offensive and defensive coordinators. Plus dipping into the transfer portal as players can officially commit beginning December 9th.
