Keira Knightley’s Super-Rare Red Carpet Appearance Shows Her Quirky Gothic-Chic Style Change

While Keira Knightley doesn’t make many public appearances, she always turns heads when she decides to step on the red carpet; oftentimes in a stunning Chanel look.

In case you missed it, on Dec 3, Knightley arrived for her first red-carpet appearance in months for the premiere of the first season of her new show, Black Doves. She arrived with a truly unique look while at the BFI Southbank in London, and it is the definition of head-turning.

In the photos, we see the forever Chanel It-Girl in a stylish, gothic-chic ensemble from Chanel’s Fall-Winter 2024 Couture line. The dress is like The Matrix meets gothic garden since the top is a super-shiny black trench coat-like design, with a floral, sheer black skirt on the bottom.

It’s bold, it’s unique, and it perfectly fits with the premiere of this new show. Plus, Knightley crimped her shoulder-length hair and donned her iconic smokey eyes look. And you guessed it, this look is like a glam take on the look she wears in the show, so it’s also a method dressing moment.

And for those who don’t know, Black Doves is a Netflix spy show following a woman named Helen (Knightley), who falls into a passionate affair with a man who has no idea who she actually is. And then, when he gets stuck in the London underworld, she and another spy join forces.

In a previous interview with The Talks, Knightley discussed how she’s stopped caring about the random backlash as she’s gotten older, focusing on doing what makes her happy (including rocking Chanel whenever she can).

She said, “I learned you can say nothing, you can be perfectly smiling, wearing a perfectly nice dress at the opening of a charity and people can still despise you for it.”
