Mayank Agarwal takes a break from cricket, attends Diljit Dosanjh’s Bengaluru concert with friends and wife
New Delhi: Indian cricketer Mayank Agarwal, along with his wife Aashita Sood and friends, attended Diljit Dosanjh‘s concert in Bengaluru on Friday, December 6. The event was part of Dosanjh’s ongoing *Dil-Luminati India Tour*, which started on October 26 in Delhi and will wrap up in Guwahati on December 29, 2024. Bollywood actress Deepika Padukone also made a special appearance at the Bengaluru show.
Agarwal, who attended the concert with his wife and friends, shared highlights from the event on Instagram.
On the cricket front, Mayank Agarwal was recently seen captaining Karnataka in the ongoing Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy (SMAT) 2024. However, Karnataka fell short of qualifying for the quarterfinals, finishing fourth in Group B with just three wins from seven matches.
Additionally, the 33-year-old had a modest outing with the bat, amassing 179 runs in seven innings at an average of 25.57, including one half-century.
In a surprising turn of events, Mayank Agarwal went unsold in the IPL 2025 mega auction, which concluded on November 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This outcome was largely attributed to his underwhelming performances in the past three IPL seasons.
In the 2022 IPL edition, playing for Punjab Kings, Mayank Agarwal scored 196 runs in 13 matches at a poor average of 16.33. He was bought by SunRisers Hyderabad for the 2023 season but had a disappointing outing, managing only 270 runs in 10 games. In the 2024 season, he played just four matches. Overall, Agarwal has featured in 127 IPL games, amassing 2,661 runs with 13 fifties and one century.
Meanwhile, Mayank Agarwal’s last international appearance was in 2022 during a Test match against Sri Lanka. The 33-year-old has played 21 Tests, scoring 1,488 runs, including six fifties and four centuries. He has also played five ODIs, accumulating 86 runs.
