New bride Sobhita Dhulipala wed Naga Chaitanya on December 4 in a golden kanjeevaram silk saree. This golden bridal look of Sobhita Dhulipala became the talk of the town. The heritage look comprised of traditional jewellery and rituals. Sobhita’s bridal look soon took us down the memory lane reminiscing all South Indian brides in a saree and the one name that stuck was Aishwarya Rai. Aishwarya Rai’s bridal look has been in the papers time and again. Reportedly, Sobhita and Aishwarya’s bridal sarees were designed by the same fashion designer Neeta Lulla.
From traditional pattu cheera saree to maximal jewellery to honour her Telugu heritage, Sobhita’s love for the amalgamation of modernism and culture was evident. The timeless drape highlighted her refined sense of style, paired beautifully with a traditional basikam (forehead thread) and a maathapatti that framed her face. She further styled her look with kundan choker in jalebi design, a mangoharam haar, which is common in South Indian jewellery, and a huge matar mala.
According to a report by Times of India, Dhulipala’s saree had similar motifs alike Aishwarya Rai’s golden-orange bridal wear. Reportedly, Aishwarya’s saree was weaved with real gold zari work and is worth lakhs. In an interview, Neeta Lulla broke silence on the cost of Aish’s saree and said “did you fell for the awafah?” In early report, it was priced for Rs 75 lakhs but Lulla seemed to have called a false claim. Lulla’s extensive craftsmanship and bridal wear is mostly priced at Rs-30,000 to over Rs 2 lakhs. However, with customisation suiting ‘The Night Manager’ actress could have increased the net amount.
