Live updates: College football championship Saturday and how it affects Ohio State
COLUMBUS, Ohio (WCMH) -- Conference championship Saturday is here as the Ohio State Buckeyes watch and see how the results change the landscape of the bracket.
The first 12-team playoff will be revealed on Sunday at noon, but first, six conference champions need to be crowned Saturday and guide how the committee will seed the bracket. Despite a loss last week to Michigan, the Buckeyes are safe to make the postseason and likely will play a first-round game at Ohio Stadium.
Saturday's results will change the road to the national championship and could shift Ohio State's seeding, matchup and path. Five conference champions are guaranteed playoff spots, and one was determined Friday. No. 10 Boise State beat No. 20 UNLV 21-7 in the Mountain West championship to clinch the Group of Six postseason berth and a bye into the quarterfinals.
