The Nation's Weather for Saturday, December 7, 2024
_____
NATIONAL SUMMARY
Lake-effect snow will linger today, mainly over parts of
upstate New York. These bands of snow could create highly
localized slippery roads and whiteout conditions that may
arrive suddenly. A clipper storm from western Canada will
spread areas of snow and snow showers across the central and
northern Great Lakes region. As this storm slides to the
southeast tonight and Sunday, it will spread steady snow
into upstate New York and central and northern New England
with a light wintry mix on the southern edge. Farther south,
more rain will gather over Texas, where downpours can be
briefly heavy enough to trigger localized urban flooding.
Milder air will extend from the Rockies to the Great Plains
on gusty winds. Meanwhile, a storm will push inland over the
Northwest with areas of rain and mountain snow.
