It led to an unavoidable end for the tight-knit TV pals’ career as the Hairy Bikers with Si paying tribute to Dave with one final show titled The Hairy Bikers: You’ll Never Ride Alone.

The programme has allowed Si to have one final TV adventure as a Hairy Biker as he was joined by thousands to take part in the Dave Day motorcycle from Central London to Dave’s hometown of Barrow-in-Furness.

Ahead of the emotional show’s premiere, Si has now discussed for the first time what the future holds in regards to his TV career.

Speaking to The Sun and other press, Si didn’t rule out further TV appearances but adamantly confirmed that he would be leaving “adventure-style” shows that he would have filmed with his best pal, in the past.

The star said: “It would be different because you know that was Dave and I.

“He’s no longer with us so no it would have to be different.

“I would want it to be different.”

Si went on to joke that he would have to see what projects the BBC would trust him with next before he added: “Of course it would need to be different but I’m really proud of is the legacy that Dave’s left.”

Speaking about the importance of honouring his best pal’s legacy, Si said: “The grief, it comes and goes.

“But it’s important that I honour the Biker’s legacy and it’s important that that I also I also do you know do stuff that I want to do still.

“Dave was very very clear and adamant – as I would want for him if the shoe was on the other foot.”

The news comes after it was revealed Si would be joining the ITV family as a regular chef on daytime show This Morning with the star having already made his first appearance alongside Ben Shephard and Cat Deeley.

Furthermore, Si felt it was necessary to give their loyal fanbase a final chance to say goodbye too.

Admitting that he and Dave were never phased by the fame – they always wanted to give back and connect with their audience as a way of thanks.

An emotional Si said: “We never let anybody change us.

“We had great families and good people around us and a great crew.

“For that reason we just did what we did and the fame came and yeah it’s a privilege.

“Our audience are the people that pay our wages and they deserve their moment with this show.

“You know they deserve respect and Dave and I always had that at the core as well because we are our audience and it’s very very important to remember that.”

As well as not ruling out any future TV plans, Si was quick to confirm that he is keeping busy with a series of other projects on the way.

He revealed he was still working on his very own stage show to tour in 2025 before adding: “I’m opening a takeaway restaurant kind of vibe in Sunderland.

“I’m moving house. I’ve got a book to finish… Need I go on!”
